On 6-8 October 2015 we had the pleasure of participating in the next \u2013 9th edition of the conference series \u201cDrying and thermal treatment of sewage sludge\u201d, this time as the general partner of the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This edition was particularly important for us, because together with the patronage of the meeting \u2013 MPWiK in Pu\u0142awy, we presented you with a modern Mechanical Sludge Dewatering Installation \u2013 the Bucher piston press, which was a leading example of the application of sludge conversion methods in practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The conference was also devoted to current issues related to the management of municipal sewage sludge using broadly understood thermal methods, including the Thermal Sludge Treatment Plant, also implemented for the needs of the Pu\u0142awy agglomeration, which continues the treatment of sludge after the dewatering process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Both installations could be seen up close during a technical visit organised as part of the conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The substantive support of the meeting was provided by numerous lectures and foreign references, especially from Germany, which is a leading country in the EU in the implementation of thermal treatment of sludge. Many Polish and international authorities and institutions from the sludge dewatering, drying and incineration industry took the floor. Numerous domestic and foreign papers were presented on the subject of optimizing energy recovery from sewage sludge as a result of skillful combination of modern methods of its treatment, as well as financial and economic issues, especially those related to operating costs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
