The sludge stabilization process is one of the two basic processes used in the processing and disposal of sewage sludge. According to the information contained in the expert opinion constituting the basis for the development of a strategy for the management of municipal sewage sludge for the years 2014-2020, prepared under the supervision of prof. dr hab. inż. January Bień, it results that in approx. 80% out of 2094 analyzed sewage treatment plants no installation for stabilizing sewage sludge was found. This applies in particular to treatment plants with the size of <2000, 2000-10000 and 10000-50000 PE. It is therefore necessary to supplement the sludge processing lines with devices allowing for the implementation of this process.
The conference included presentations covering all applied processes, in which the principles of selecting technological parameters and design basics, information on process kinetics, and operating experience were discussed in detail.
